Topic: What Faith is not: The Opposite of Work
James 2:17 ‘Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone’.
One of the commonest heresies in the teaching of faith is referring to work as the opposite of faith. Clearly as we see in this opening text, faith does not work without action (work).
Beloved, God is conscious of the state of your heart and the deeds of your hand. Joseph spoke with faith when he declared that Israel will break free from slavery (Heb. 11:22) but there needed someone to act, Moses. If you have faith, work towards it.
Talk to God: Father, help me not to neglect the place of work in faith in Jesus name, amen.
