Mark 1:18 “And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.”
The response of these two brothers to the call of Christ could seem surprising; they were busy with their fishing yet “straightaway” left their nets. Such prompt response is what God requires of us when He calls.
Beloved, you could have been busy, you could have been up and running, but when the call comes to you, would you let your net be an obstacle? It would be a great error to regard anything made than the Maker. If God needs you, He needs you to respond quickly; this calls for grace.
Talk to God: Father, please take away any obstacle that could stand in my way of responding quickly to you in Jesus’ name, amen.
