Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
The coming of Christ was a fulfillment of prophecies of God reconciling with man, and for this to occur, the barrier (sin) had to be removed. Jesus came as the only salvation from sin, hence the meaning of His name, ‘God saves’.
A true understanding of the name of Christ follows a deeper walk with Him, else it becomes difficult to understand how the miracle of Christ’s being came about. Have you encountered Him?
