Matthew 6:7 “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”
Christ had this warning for the disciples about praying, vain repetitions do not guarantee answered prayers. We learnt earlier that it important we persist in prayers, but it becomes vain repetition when the heart is not tune with the lips’ request.
People pray without understanding what they pray for, and they keep asking without considering God’s will. If you do not want to end up with vain repetitions, be intentional about praying, pray with understanding, according to God’s will and mean what you say. God still listens!
Talk to God: Father, help me to be mindful to avoid vain repetitions when I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
