Matthew 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me”.
Self denial is often described as sacrificing one’s benefit for a good cause. The sort Christ requires of us is one that returns greater benefits to us.
Walking before God might seem to cost a lot, especially as you detach from the world’s distractions. This denial is necessary to conform to Christ and in the end it births eternal life.
Talk to God: Father, help me to walk before you in self denial. Amen.
