Matthew 26:39 “And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”
One could wonder why Christ prayed earnestly if God would let the cup pass over Him. He knew the importance of the Cross, but was never ready to be forsaken of His Father.
God can not behold iniquity, and as Christ bore the sin of the world, there was a first time separation between them. When sin is found with you, you become repulsive to God. What is enough to allow God forsake you?!
Talk to God: Father, help me to let go of anything that would make You forsake me in Jesus name, amen.
