Topic: Self Pity
1 Kings 19:4 “But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”
Another dangerous state of mind is self pity, it is a negligible slow poison for potential giants. After the exploits of Elijah on mount Carmel another test came for him, that which inolved his self. That became more difficult, not because of the task, but the inner man in question.
You might find yourself at a point where you just want to say like Elijah, “it is enough”, this is often born out of self pity, what does God have to say about it? For Elijah, God revealed he could be replaced (vs 16&18). Do not let self pity cut you short, keep winning!
Talk to God: Father, help me to get rid of self pity in Jesus name, amen.
