John 18:36 “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”
Christ’s first coming exceeded the expectations of people, especially the Israelites, some of who thought to see a Messiah who would lead them to the world’s kingdom restoration. Today’s text sets that mark of difference.
Jesus knew where He was from and what He was to do, and so He was not entangled with the things of this world, do not be distracted by what the Kingdom of this world may offer, wait on God’s Kingdom.
Talk to God: Father, I receive grace to await your Kingdom more patiently in Jesus name, amen.
