II Samuel 11:2 “And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.”
The preceding verse of today’s text shows that David tarried in Jerusalem at a time when Kings went to war, God had given him rest, and that was not a crime.
The problem came when he was swayed into temptation by his eyes and could not resist it. The devil targets a time a believer is at rest to strike, do not give him a chance.
Talk to God: Father, deliver me from every form of temptation in Jesus name, amen.
