Luke 11:1 “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
The disciples of Jesus had been with Him for a while, and being a man of prayer, one could assume they should have known how to pray, but they did not. This is the case of many Christians today, they assume they know how to pray, since they have been doing it right from their tender ages.
Beloved, learning to pray does not come by assumptions or an imitation of what you see some others doing, the disciples, too could have just imitated Jesus, but such act is the cause of ineffective prayers some pray today. Do you know how to pray? You could still get better, let the Master teach you.
Talk to God: Father, help me to understand the true meaning of prayers in Jesus’ name, amen.
