John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
The declaration of Christ in today’s text is a confirmation of who He is and what follows for those who walk after Him. By surrendering our lives to Him, we give Him the go-ahead to save us from darkness and lead us in the light.
It is really simple to say, “follow Christ and be in the light” but it takes a life given away to Him to truly follow Him. In a world filled with darkness, you have to focus on Christ and be blind to what you see around you. Shun the world, be in the Light.
Talk to God: Father, help me to follow your light and shun darkness all my life in Jesus name, amen.
