Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
By His grace, the Lord is opening our eyes to see the relationship between brokenness and sacrifice. A broken man comes humbly to God with the pieces of His heart, asking Him to fix it again and God, He gives grace to the humble and resists the proud.
Brokenness as the Lord expects from you, is that you no longer wish to be formed by yourself or the people around you. The heart, which was proud or wayward needs to be shattered before the Master remoulds it and uses the vessel again. He would not despise the humble!
Talk to God: Father, teach me to humbly surrender my heart to be made for your purpose in Jesus’ name, amen.
