Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
When God wants to use a man, He first brings him to Himself, and moulds him as He wants. But the making process might entail a breaking, where the heart is prepared toward a new resolve.
Being broken is a stage you should expect to reach if you want to go far with God, it is a stage that first surfaces during salvation when you decided to surrender your life to Him. You should be broken.
Talk to God: Father, help me to be broken indeed, that you may make me as you want in Jesus name, amen.
