Topic: The Spirit of Adoption
Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
Adoption, as portrayed in this opening text could be seen as the opposite of bondage. We can then infer, that adoption has to do with freedom. Read 2 Cor. 3:17. This selfsame Spirit is referred to here.
When you gave your life to Christ, you were given a heir’s privilege. Your infilling by the Holy Spirit sets you on course as a ‘son’ such that the slavery of sin is abolished. Have you received this Spirit?
