Topic: Idolizing the Anointed
Acts 14:11 “And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.”
Read Acts 14. The attempt to idolize Paul and Barnabas might seem very awkward, but this has someway crept into the church today. Men are placed in such high esteem that many now set their focus on them rather than God, this is grave evil.
Truly, you should acknowledge the anointing of God upon His servant, but understand that, as the Apostles said in verse 15, they are men of like passion, God’s generals but not God. Wisdom is profitable to direct.
Talk to God: Father, detach me from every act of idolatry in Jesus name, amen.
