1 Samuel 26:9 “And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD’s anointed, and be guiltless?”
As at the time of the occurrence in today’s text, Saul had erred and God’s Spirit departed from him, even at that, David was careful not to do anything against God’s anointing, the reason is found also in that text.
Whether an anointed man remains standing or has backslidden, it is not the right of anyone to judge them because they still among God’s anointed, this fact must be regarded.
Talk to God: Father, help me to pray for your anointed, especially those backslidden or backsliding, amen.
